Tea plantations are located outside the city, however, once in Lankaran , you can indulge yourself in the pleasure of visiting these endless fields planted with tea bushes. The tradition of tea drinking is in the blood of Azerbaijanis. They love tea here and drink it many times a day from small pear-shaped glass cups. By the way, tea is the most popular souvenir product from Azerbaijan that is brought as a gift to family and friends. It can be purchased in regular grocery stores or at the local city market. Lavangi is the hallmark of South Azerbaijani cuisine. It is a traditional Talysh dish (Talysh is an ethnic group in Azerbaijan), but all Azerbaijanis love it. More precisely, it is a filling for chicken, fish or eggplant, which is prepared from finely grated onions, ground walnuts, turshu (an oriental cherry plum seasoning), and other seasonings. It is considered one of the signature dishes of the Azerbaijani feast.
